What is incumbent upon the mother who vowed to sacrifice a camel for her daughter's success in marriage, and the daughter has since married and then divorced, and the mother does not currently possess the price of the camel?

The mother must fulfill her vow and sacrifice the camel, as long as she made the vow conditional on her daughter's marriage in general and did not stipulate the continuation of the marriage. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "And let them fulfill their vows," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him." If she is unable to fulfill the vow, she should wait until she can do so. However, if the inability is not expected to cease, then she must offer an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin).
