It is permissible to download a jailbreak program if it is done in a legitimate way, such as when the company allows its free download or after purchase. It is conditional that it be used only for what is permissible. The commercial agent must be informed when repairing or replacing the device, as the warranty may be voided because of it. However, downloading it from unlicensed websites is not permissible, due to the prohibition of infringing upon protected software, as it causes harm to their owners, and based on the hadith: "There should be no harm nor reciprocating harm." Similarly, it is not permissible to use it to infringe upon copyrighted software.
