Is there a date for the revelation of the verses, and not a reason for the revelation of the verses?

A portion of the Holy Quran was revealed, and the time, place, and reason for its revelation were known, while another portion was not. Some Companions, such as Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, were aware of this. Examples of what was known regarding the time and place of revelation include: the first revelation of the Quran, the beginning of Surat Al-Alaq, which descended upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Cave of Hira, on Monday night, the twenty-first of Ramadan, when he was forty years and six months old. Likewise, Allah's saying: (This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion), was revealed on Friday, the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, at Arafat during the Farewell Pilgrimage in the tenth year of the Hijra. There is no specific book on the history of the Quran's revelation similar to the books on the reasons for revelation (Asbab al-Nuzul).
