Is a man permitted to prevent his wife from sleeping in their home while she is still under his marital bond?

Housing is a mandatory right for the wife upon her husband, and it is among the requirements of living together in kindness, as indicated by the noble verse: "Provide them with dwellings according to your means, wherever you dwell." The wife's right to housing is forfeited if she disobeys her husband (nushuz). Nushuz is her disobedience to her husband in matters where he has authority over her, such as her refusal to share his bed, or her leaving the house without his permission, or her refusal to move with him. Whenever this occurs, she has no right to maintenance or housing according to the general consensus of scholars. If the wife retracts her disobedience, her right to maintenance and housing returns to her in kindness.
