Is it forbidden to live as siblings in one house with mutual hatred between the spouses and for the sake of the children?

If the spouses agree to separate, there is no harm, but the situation should not remain as such, for marriage has great objectives. Therefore, the spouses are called to reconciliation, and love and respect should prevail between them, overlooking mistakes. Each should know and fulfill the rights of the other. Indeed, whoever seeks a spouse without fault or a woman without imperfection seeks the impossible. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." This is because if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will find in her another pleasing characteristic.
