Is it permissible to delay the Eid prayer from the day the crescent of Shawwal is sighted until the second day to enable Muslim workers to obtain Eid leave?

The Eid prayers are a collective obligation (fard kifayah), and it is also said that they are an individual obligation (fard ayn). Since the Islamic center performs them upon sighting the crescent moon, the collective obligation is lifted from those who do not attend. It is not permissible to delay the prayer to the second or third day of Shawwal so that everyone can attend, as this contradicts the consensus of the Companions, unless the Eid was not known until after the sun had passed its meridian, in which case it is permissible to delay it to the second day.
