What should a 19-year-old young man do, who is dedicated to his studies, but faces problems from his mother who describes him with offensive terms like "disobedient son" and does not understand his attempts to explain?

Filial piety is among the most emphasized duties, and disobeying one's parents is among the most heinous prohibitions. Allah has commanded kindness towards them and forbidden ill-treatment of them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) clarified that disobeying parents is among the greatest major sins, and that Allah will not look at a disobedient child on the Day of Judgment, nor will such a person enter Paradise. Therefore, one must endure and bear the harm inflicted by parents, for the path to Paradise is surrounded by hardships.
