Does a man's statement to his wife, "If she no longer wants me, then I have released you, Moka," count as a divorce?

This phrase is not among the explicit or implicit (kinayah) forms of divorce. However, if its meaning is abandonment and removal, it is close to the kinayah forms, and therefore divorce does not occur by it except with the intention of divorce. Since you did not intend divorce by it, nothing falls upon you.
