Is it permissible for a participant in a جمعية (rotating savings and credit association) to ask her husband for a larger sum of money under the pretext of extending the duration of the جمعية, without his knowledge of her need for the money?

It is obligatory for the husband to provide for his wife according to what is customary (a sufficient amount for food, housing, and clothing) based on the circumstances of both spouses. If the husband provides according to what is customary, then it is not permissible for the wife to take anything from his money without his permission or to lie to him. However, if the husband does not provide according to what is customary, then it is permissible for the wife to use stratagems to obtain her right, while avoiding lying unless it is the only way to secure her right.
