When should one perform the ghusl for Eid if going to the musalla takes a long time?

It is recommended to perform ghusl (ritual bath) for Eid, as reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) and some Companions like Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). As for its time, it is best to perform it after the Fajr prayer. However, it is permissible to perform ghusl before it, even from midnight, due to the limited time and people's need to go out for the Eid prayer.
