What is the ruling on opening forums and sections on websites for songs, music, art, cinema, and satellite channels? Is there sin upon the general supervisor, the website owner, and the members for any participation? Is there sin upon the supervisor, manager, or website owner if a member places female images in their signature and posts?
It is impermissible to open websites or sections for singing, music, entertainment news, films, and the like, due to the propagation of forbidden acts and aiding therein. Sound religious texts have prohibited music, free mixing between sexes, and the uncovering of 'awrah (parts of the body that must be covered). Furthermore, photographing living beings, whether human or animal, and posting these images in forums or keeping them as mementos, is not allowed, due to the general evidence prohibiting photography. Nothing is exempted from this prohibition except what is for a necessity. Prohibited photography also includes drawing imaginary or distorted cartoon images of living beings. As for posting images of women in forums, it is a reprehensible act due to the prohibited photography involved and the incitement of temptation. Those in charge of the website must prevent this, as they are responsible for every forbidden act published on their sites.
