Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to attend a wedding in a mosque?

The ruling on a menstruating woman entering the mosque has been previously explained. If a woman is prohibited from entering the mosque for seeking knowledge, then she is even more so prohibited from entering for other purposes. Accepting a wedding invitation is obligatory unless there is an excuse. If a menstruating woman can accept the invitation without staying in the mosque, then she should do so. Otherwise, it is not obligatory for her because she has an excuse; in fact, it is not legislated for her to accept in this situation. However, she may pass through the mosque without staying, provided she is certain she will not defile it.
