Does masturbation affect a girl's virginity?

Masturbation is a forbidden act. Whoever is afflicted by it must repent to Allah by feeling remorse and resolving not to return to it. Masturbation may lead to the loss of virginity, or it may not. If nothing is apparent to the woman, it is better for her not to preoccupy herself with that, and it is sufficient for her to trust in her chastity and purity and to strive in obedience to her Lord.
