What should be said to a young man who has been negatively affected by the rulings of Islamic Sharia – especially the punishment of stoning – leading him to abandon prayer and neglect his religious duties, yet his heart inclines towards Islam when reading verses about scientific miracles?

Among the requirements of faith is submission to the decree of Allah and His Messenger, whether the intellect comprehends its wisdom or not, for Allah does nothing but with wisdom. The young man's denial of the punishment of stoning, due to his not comprehending its wisdom, is evidence that he only believes in what he understands its wisdom, and this is a door to misguidance. The punishment of stoning is legally established in Islamic law, and the Rightly Guided Caliphs and the Imams acted upon it. Denying it is a serious matter and a path to misguidance, and there should be no doubt about it. The young man must repent and return to Islam and correct his belief, for this doubt of his is an apostasy from Islam and a loss in this world and the Hereafter.
