The remembrance () the questioner referred to is recited upon hearing the (call to prayer), and it is: "And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as a Messenger, and with Islam as a religion." This remembrance forgives sins, as narrated by Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud. The (call to commence prayer) is considered an adhan. A weak has been reported encouraging remembrance during the iqamah, but the aforementioned general ruling remains inclusive of the iqamah.
