What is the ruling on saying "There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things competent" after the Iqamah for every prayer?
This particular (remembrance) is not among the supplications reported to be recited at the time of the (call to prayer) and (second call to prayer, signaling the imminent start of the prayer). However, there is no religious prohibition against reciting it. Nevertheless, it should not be recited habitually as if it were a , due to the absence of any transmitted reports supporting it as such. It has been authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that another remembrance is to be said upon hearing the Adhan: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as my Messenger, and with Islam as my religion." Whoever says this, "his sins will be forgiven."
This remembrance is to be said when hearing the muezzin say, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," or at the end of the Adhan when he says, "There is no god but Allah."
Scholars have differed regarding the recommendation of these supplications at the time of the Iqamah. Many of them did not differentiate between the Adhan and the Iqamah in this regard, so what is recommended upon hearing the Adhan and after it is also recommended upon hearing the Iqamah and after it.
