The answer

Usury is one of the gravest major sins. Allah has threatened those who consume it with war, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes it, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses. It is not permissible to engage in it except out of a necessity that is legally recognized. This is when a person reaches a state where they fear perishing or enduring extreme, unbearable hardship, such as a danger to life, limb, honor, mind, or property. If you engaged in usury without necessity, you have committed a grave sin that necessitates sincere repentance. And whoever repents, Allah will accept their repentance. It is not necessary to dispose of the house you bought with a usurious loan, because the prohibition relates to the borrower's liability, not to the object consumed through it.
