What should one do who sees something disliked in a dream and tells others about it to avoid harm, or is harm inevitable?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, taught us four etiquettes for someone who sees something disliked in their dream: that they should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of what they saw and from the evil of Satan, that they should spit dryly to their left three times when they wake up, and that they should never mention it to anyone. The removal of harm is contingent upon observing all of these etiquettes, the greatest of which is seeking refuge with Allah from the evil of Satan and the evil of what was seen, because that is a cause for safety from the disliked.
One should not become preoccupied with remembering their dream and fearing it, as this is one of the reasons the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade speaking about it, lest one hasten anxiety and be tormented by it, and anticipate the occurrence of something disliked.
