Is there hope for the rectification of a man who steals from his wife and violates the rights of others?
If the husband is stealing his wife's money and neglecting people's rights, then he is an oppressor who transgresses the limits of Allah. He must repent by ceasing the oppression, feeling remorse, resolving not to return to it, and restoring rights to their owners or seeking their forgiveness. The hope for the man's rectitude is known to Allah, and no matter how great a servant's sins, there is no despair of his reformation, for guidance is in the hand of Allah. The servant must exert efforts for reformation and leave the results to Allah Almighty, in accordance with His saying: "Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided."
