If the cancer is in the abdomen, we hope its possessor attains the reward of martyrdom, even if the outward rulings of martyrs do not apply to him. However, if it is outside the abdomen, then it is like other diseases that expiate sins and raise ranks, according to the pain and hardship, and the patience of its possessor and his contentment with God's decree.
