Will God compensate those who were deprived of marriage in this world with something special in the Hereafter, or will they be blamed for not striving enough to achieve this blessing?

It is recommended to turn to God with supplication for facilitating marriage, as marriage can be a means of sustenance, and whoever helps God is "the one who marries seeking chastity." The benefits of marriage are great, including warding off the dangers of lust, increasing offspring, and striving for the Hereafter. There is no evidence that whoever is deprived of marriage will be compensated more in Paradise. Marriage is originally commendable, and it is obligatory for whoever fears falling into immorality by abandoning it.
