What is the ruling on the banknotes (currency) circulated in some countries that bear images of historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, taking into consideration the legitimate objections related to him being a tyrant and having killed Muslims, in addition to the impermissibility of images in Islam?

Previously, the ruling on wearing "Louis" gold was explained, considering it merely a gold coin. Its ruling is the same as that of other gold: it is forbidden for men to wear it, but permissible for women. If it is confirmed that this coin bears the image of a human, then it is not permissible to wear it or adorn oneself with it. The prohibition becomes even stronger if the image is that of a well-known enemy of Muslims. As for dealing with it as currency, jurists have stated that the images found on Roman dinars fall under the category of "degraded images," the use of which is not forbidden according to the more authoritative opinion.
