The speaker should think well of Muslims and be mindful of the Prophet's saying, "Whoever says 'people are ruined,' he is the one who ruins them." This is intended for someone who says it out of fault-finding and disdain for people, preferring himself. However, if it is said out of sorrow for what he sees in their religious affairs, then there is no harm in it.
