ما هو معنى "جنس العمل"؟

The intended meaning of 'jins al-amal' (genus of action) is everything that can be rightfully called an action. When discussing faith and disbelief, what is meant is the apparent actions of the limbs, not the inner actions of the heart. An example of the issue being discussed is the disbelief of one who abandons the genus of action, such as someone who pronounces the Shahadatayn (Two Testimonies) but then never performs any good deed with their tongue or limbs, and never repeats the pronunciation of the Shahadatayn at all, even after the impediment is removed.
