Am I afflicted with a feeling of insincerity in seeking forgiveness, and that I desire worldly things by it? And do I fall into polytheism if I seek forgiveness with the intention that Allah may grant me what I desire?

The ruling on one who performs acts of worship merely to attain a worldly objective has been previously clarified. However, for a servant to perform worship seeking Allah's Countenance and hoping for His reward in this world and the hereafter, this is a permissible matter.
