Is seeking forgiveness with the intention of achieving worldly matters, such as increasing provision, marriage, or success, considered minor shirk or a deficiency in faith, despite the noble Hadith: "Whoever adheres to seeking forgiveness, Allah will make for him a way out of every difficulty and a relief from every worry, and will provide for him from where he does not expect"?

A Muslim must be religious, fulfilling obligations and avoiding prohibitions, with the intention of seeking the countenance of Allah Almighty through his good deeds and being sincere to Him. If a Muslim performs a certain dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and his sole intention is worldly gain, then this contradicts sincerity. However, if his intention is secondary to performing the dhikr for the sake of Allah Almighty, then there is no harm, because working for Allah while hoping for the reward that He has ordained for that work does not contradict sincerity and perfection, even if it contradicts what is most perfect. Similarly, if a Muslim intends a worldly or otherworldly benefit that the Shari'ah has ordained for an action, along with seeking the countenance of Allah and being sincere to Him, there is no harm in it.
