What is the ruling on eating the meat of animals slaughtered by the Muslim state using an electric stunning device that fells the animal to the ground, after which the butcher slaughters it?

If the butcher slaughters the animal immediately upon its fall while it still has life, then it is permissible to eat it. However, if he slaughters it after its death, then it is not permissible to eat it, as it becomes subject to the ruling of the mawqoodhah (animal beaten to death), which is forbidden. The dhakaat (Islamic slaughter) has no effect except on an animal whose life is confirmed by the movement of a part of its body or the gushing of blood, based on the Almighty's saying: "Forbidden to you are al-maytah (dead animals), blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [animals] strangled, and [animals] beaten to death (mawqoodhah), and [animals] fallen [from a high place], and [animals] gored, and that which has been [partially] eaten by a wild animal, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death]."
