Is it permissible for a Muslim to acquire the Gospel to learn about the word of God to His servant and messenger, Jesus, peace be upon him?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to acquire books predating the Quran, such as the Injeel (Gospel) and the Tawrat (Torah), because the Noble Quran has clarified all that is beneficial within them and suffices in their place. The Quran confirms and is supreme over what preceded it. As for what the questioner seeks to know regarding Allah's words to Jesus, Allah has narrated it in the Quran. Furthermore, the Gospels currently in existence are distorted and contradictory. An exception to this is a proficient student of knowledge who can distinguish between truth and falsehood, in order to refute the falsehoods within them and establish proof.
