What is the ruling on seeking worldly benefits from acts of worship and Sharia rulings? What is the ruling on someone who does so with the intention of seeking knowledge and reward? Is this considered seeking religious knowledge or not? Is it permissible to rely on this method in inviting non-Muslims to Islam?

The believer worships Allah and obeys His command, whether he comprehends the wisdom behind it or not. For Allah is All-Wise; He legislates only with wisdom. The believer is not obligated to seek out the wisdom, lest it weaken his submission. However, if a person seeks the wisdom to invite others to Allah, he is a doer of good and will be rewarded. But he must clarify that submission is to the Sharia (Islamic law), not to the wisdom, and he should avoid mentioning wisdoms for which there is no evidence, so as not to alienate people.
