What is the ruling on eating meat slaughtered by Jews and Christians, and what is the ruling on their prayer over it, and is it permissible to eat it after their prayer over it?

It is permissible to eat the meat of thewell-slaughtered animals of the People of the Book if they slaughter them according to the Islamic method, and do not kill them by electrocution or shooting, because Allah Almighty says: ﴿The food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you.﴾ However, if they slaughter it for other than Allah, or mention a name other than His upon it, then it is not permissible to eat it.
