Does divorce take effect upon the husband's saying "I divorce you" after the wife said "I will divorce you"?

If the husband, by the phrase "I will divorce you," intended a future promise of divorce, then nothing is binding upon him, and it is not recommended to fulfill this promise. However, if he intended it to effect an immediate divorce, then the divorce occurs. If the divorce occurs, he may reconcile with you before the iddah (waiting period) ends, provided this divorce does not complete the three divorces. As for the phrase "I will divorce you" (هأطلقك), no divorce occurs with it, whether issued by the wife or the husband, because it is explicit in being a promise of divorce.
