Are marriage, children, Hajj, Umrah, Zakat, Sadaqat, and the homes and lands you own considered unlawful if they are derived from the salary of a job in a non-Islamic bank, given the difficulty of leaving it due to old age and scarcity of jobs?
It is not permissible to remain in employment at a usurious bank except out of necessity, such as fear of destitution and ruin. If there is no such necessity, or if it is possible to find permissible employment that suffices one's needs, then it is not permissible to remain in forbidden work. One must fear Allah and repent to Him. As for the illicit money earned from this work, its ruling has been clarified in Fatwa no. 48064. We note that marriage performed with illicit money is valid, and similarly, the Hajj of Islam performed with it is valid. However, acceptance is up to Allah.
