Is it permissible to pray over a sorcerer upon his death?
If the view that a sorcerer is an apostate is adopted, then the funeral prayer should not be offered for him, based on the words of the Almighty: "And never (O Muhammad) pray (funerally) for any of them who dies, nor stand by his grave. Certainly, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah and His Messenger, and sinful)." This is also due to the consensus of scholars on the prohibition of offering the funeral prayer for a disbeliever.
However, if the view that he is not an apostate is adopted, then the funeral prayer may be offered for him, but the most virtuous among the people should not lead it.
