Is it permissible to take an interest-bearing loan from a non-Islamic bank to complete postgraduate studies, knowing that there is enough money but it would require selling the car?

Usury is one of the gravest sins, and it is not permissible to engage in it by consuming, feeding, writing, or witnessing it, due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses.” Taking a loan from a bank with interest is considered feeding usury, and it is not permissible except in cases of dire necessity where one reaches the brink of perishing or is close to it if they do not partake in the forbidden. It is obligatory to disregard borrowing with usurious interest and to seek permissible alternatives, such as selling a car or obtaining a permissible loan.
