Is kissing the hand of two people who love each other for the sake of Allah forbidden or permissible?
Kissing the hand of a righteous person or a scholar, due to their righteousness and knowledge, has been permitted by some scholars and deemed commendable, based on what has been authentically reported from the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him. However, some have disliked it out of fear of arrogance and self-aggrandizement. Ibn Abi Zayd mentioned Malik's dislike for it for that very reason, adding that had Malik known what was authentically reported from the Prophet, he would not have disliked it. If the intention behind kissing the hands is righteousness, then there is no objection to it; rather, it is commendable according to some scholars. If it is for any other reason, then it is better to avoid it.
