What is the ruling regarding a woman who was married off by her family to someone imposed upon her whom she does not love, having left someone she did love, and she remains in love with the first one?

A woman's guardian is not permitted to force her into marriage with someone she does not desire. If the coercion reached the point of removing her consent, she has the right to present the matter to a judge to annul the marriage. Then, her guardian should marry her to the one she desires, or the judge can arrange her marriage if the guardian refuses. However, if the woman agreed under pressures that did not amount to coercion, the marriage is Islamically valid. She must fear Allah and observe her husband's rights. She is not permitted to seek a divorce due to the absence of a valid Sharia reason. Rather, she must cut off her relationship with any non-mahram person and strive against her own self to overcome feelings of aversion towards her husband.
