What is the ruling on someone who is forced to leave a girl he loves and intends to marry due to his mother's compulsion, and what should he do in this situation?

In Islam, there is no concept known as "love before marriage," as it leads to corrupting influences that result in the violation of honor. Anyone afflicted by it must repent. As for a person's desire to marry someone they love, there is no impediment to it if she and her guardian consent, and the mother has no right to refuse. If the mother rejects the marriage, the daughter must try to appease her. If the mother still refuses, the daughter should not marry him, because honoring the mother takes precedence over marriage. The suitor should propose to the girl; if the guardian agrees, they may marry. Otherwise, he should abandon the idea.
