What is the ruling on the amount a bank charges for its services (service charge)?

A bank is permitted to charge fees for the permissible services it provides, provided that the service does not involve usury and is something for which a fee may legitimately be taken, such as opening accounts or transferring money. It is obligatory to avoid dealing with usurious banks except in cases of necessity, such as transferring money when no Islamic bank is available.
