Is it considered forbidden to take towels from a hotel?

What the questioner did is considered consuming people's wealth unlawfully if she did not have the hotel owners' permission for it. She must repent to Allah and return what was taken to them. If she is unable to do so after a serious search, she should give those taken items (if they still exist) or their value (if they no longer exist or have changed) as charity. Whenever she is able to return them, she should give their owners the choice between taking back what was taken from them or its value, or accepting it as charity on their behalf. It is recommended to increase good deeds in anticipation of the rightful claimants demanding their rights on the Day of Judgment.
