What is the ruling on masturbation for someone who cannot get married? Is it permissible to pray for a wet dream to release energy, and is a wet dream a blessing or a tribulation?

Scholars prohibit masturbation, and one should not despair of Allah's help in abandoning it. Many penitents thought they would never be rid of their situation, but Allah blessed them with repentance when He saw their striving. As for wet dreams ( الاحتلام), they are from the play of Satan. This is why it was impossible for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because Satan has no authority over him. One should supplicate that Allah grants him chastity and protects his private parts.
