Can a non-committed person change if supplicated for guidance during times when prayers are answered, such as the last third of the night and between the Adhan and Iqamah?

A person's state can change from misguidance to guidance through the supplication of others. A Muslim's supplication for his brother is answered, but supplication has conditions, impediments, and etiquettes. The answer might not be the fulfillment of the requested matter; rather, the supplication might be stored for the Day of Judgment, or an evil might be averted from the supplicant. Among the impediments are haste and abandoning supplication, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Your supplication will be answered as long as you do not hasten, saying: 'I supplicated but I was not answered.'" The impediment might also lie with the person for whom the supplication is made, as happened with Abu Talib, the Prophet's uncle; for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills."
