Is supplication alone sufficient to guide a person to the Straight Path, and does this contradict Allah Almighty’s saying: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves"? And is this considered oppression or coercion of the person? And how can one reconcile between a previous fatwa stating that supplication alone is not sufficient and another fatwa requesting supplication?

Praying for guidance, for oneself and for others, is among the beneficial means. It does not contradict Allah’s statement: ﴿Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.﴾ The verse clarifies that turning away from Allah's law is a reason for the removal of blessings. Allah answers prayers for guidance for whom He wills, and this is not injustice but rather a grace from Him. Allah's guiding a servant does not remove the servant's power of choice, for the servant is not compelled to obey or disobey. Guidance is a favor from Allah that He bestows upon whom He wills, and Allah is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.
