What is the ruling on holding a women's gathering to present gifts to a pregnant woman before childbirth?

The Sharia encourages people to exchange gifts and has made it a cause for love, citing the hadith "Exchange gifts, and you will love one another." It is also reported that a gift "removes the rancor of the chest," meaning its deceit and malice.
