What is the prostration prayer in the Qur’an that is authentically reported from the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, and what is the ruling on the prostration of recitation?
The Sunnah for the prostration of recitation (Sajdat al-Tilawah) is to say: "My face has prostrated to the One who created it and fashioned its hearing and sight by His power and strength." It is permissible to add: "So blessed be Allah, the best of creators." It is also permissible to say: "Glorified is my Lord, the Most High," or what one says in the prostration of prayer. Some scholars have differentiated between the remembrance (dhikr) said in prostration within prayer and that said outside of it.
