ما حكم تسمية ابني باسم متيم؟

The basic principle regarding names is permissibility unless they involve servitude to other than Allah, or effeminacy, or self-praise, or naming with the names of disbelievers and transgressors. The name "Mutayyam" (متيم) means one enslaved by passion, or one whose mind has been lost and corrupted by the intensity of passion. It is not appropriate to use this name because most of those who use it are people of passion and revelry. It is advisable to choose a virtuous name for the newborn.
