Is the father obligated to provide for his three daughters who live with their divorced mother and she refuses to hand them over to him?

A father must provide for his needy daughters as long as he is able. If the daughters are in the mother's custody, she has the right to receive their maintenance from the father. It is not a condition for the children to eat with the father if it causes harm to them or to the custodian. The general rule, when spouses separate, is that custody belongs to the mother unless there is an impediment. There is disagreement regarding the age at which custody ends. The custodian does not have the right to prevent the other parent from seeing the children. In case of dispute over matters of maintenance or custody, the reference point is the Sharia court.
