Is the husband obligated to provide for his wife if he divorces her for the third time? And is he obligated to provide for the young children? And what are the children religiously and lawfully obligated to do concerning their father who mistreats their mother, squanders money, and asks them for sums of money disproportionate to his other resources?

The father's actions indicate foolishness and recklessness. Marriage is a solemn covenant, and divorce is disliked without a need, and it may even be forbidden. If the father issues the third divorce, the mother becomes irrevocably separated from him (Baynunah Kubra). She is entitled to maintenance and housing during her waiting period ('iddah) according to some jurists, and the children's maintenance is obligatory upon the father. It is advised to counsel the father, reform him, and prevent him from issuing the third divorce. The children are not obligated to give the father everything he demands in terms of money; rather, they should be patient with him and manage him carefully. No matter how much the father errs, honoring him and being kind to him remains an obligation.
