What is the reward for a wife who was divorced and dedicated her life to raising and providing for her three children, and did not remarry, and what is the recompense for her ex-husband who abandoned them and refused to provide for his children?

If a father, despite being able, refrains from spending on his children, he has committed a grave sin, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is enough sin for a man to neglect those he is responsible to feed," and "It is enough sin for a man to withhold from those whose sustenance he possesses." The wife may take the matter to court to compel him to provide for them.
