Marital life is built upon affection, mercy, upholding covenants, and preserving rights. The absence of respect destabilizes the family, and children deserve the sacrifice of their parents to ensure their safety and psychological and social stability. Attachment to another man other than the husband is dangerous and a cause for family breakdown. The wife must fear Allah and sever this attachment. The wife should be affectionate and gentle with her husband, and the husband must treat his wife and children kindly and fulfill his duties towards them, for providing for one's family is among the greatest deeds in reward.
