Is it correct to say: "Seeking forgiveness is the life of hearts?"

Seeking forgiveness is a cause for the heart's life, guidance, and light. It is among the remembrances of Allah by which hearts are brought to life, and a cure for them from sins. Seeking forgiveness polishes, refines, and cleanses the heart from tarnish and impurity. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that he seeks Allah's forgiveness a hundred times because "a veil comes over my heart." If a believer commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and seeks forgiveness, his heart is polished; otherwise, it becomes covered with tarnish.
